Mustard Tree has an established track record over the past 25 years, supporting people across Greater Manchester in poverty and facing homelessness.
We run a structured volunteering programme, Freedom, through which people help run our charity shops, furniture collection/distribution, professional kitchen, reception, and a recycling project. We provide vocational training and find work placements for those who wish to set employment as their goal. We also help people improve their health and wellbeing through working to increase access to health services, community and providing something meaningful to do.
Our Freedom Co-ordinators provide 1-2-1 coaching for our Freedom volunteers, helping people set goals, providing support and encouragement. We are now looking to recruit an additional Freedom Co-ordinator on an initial 12-month contract, with realistic potential to develop into a permanent contract. We are looking for a person who has enthusiasm, passion for empowering others, and who feels that our values reflect them:
- Belief in people – working with people where they are, focusing on strengths
- Dignity for all – kindness, respect and compassion underlie how we work
- Opportunity – creating opportunities for people to improve their lives
- Diversity – embracing the differences and valuing the contribution of all
- Partnership – commitment to working in partnership
By maintaining and embedding these values, we define how we work with each other and others – the Mustard Tree way.
Experience is desirable but not necessarily essential if the right person can demonstrate our values and is committed to learning and to our volunteers. We will provide training in areas such as Motivational Interviewing and Safeguarding.
Please review the Job Description and Person Specification document below and if you would like to apply, send your CV with a letter (maximum 2 pages) summarising how you meet the points on the person specification to email@example.com. We will be holding interviews on 12th June which will involve a practical role play as well as the interview. Application deadline is 4th June.
