Mustard Tree has an established track record over the past 25 years, supporting people across Greater Manchester in poverty and facing homelessness. We run a structured volunteering programme, Freedom, through which we provide vocational training and find work placements for those who wish to set employment as their goal.
We are looking to employ a Cleaning Supervisor on an initial 12-month contract to help keep the building clean and maintained. This role will also involve training and supervising a team of Freedom Volunteers to carry out cleaning of communal areas of the building, providing on-the-job vocational training. We are looking for a person who has enthusiasm, passion for empowering others, and who feels that our values reflect them:
Belief in people – working with people where they are, focusing on strengths
Dignity for all – kindness, respect and compassion underlie how we work
Opportunity – creating opportunities for people to improve their lives
Diversity – embracing the differences and valuing the contribution of all
Partnership – commitment to working in partnership
By maintaining and embedding these values, we define how we work with each other and others – the Mustard Tree way.
Please review the Job Description and Person Specification and if you would like to apply, and send your CV with a covering letter (maximum 2 pages) summarising how you meet the points on the person specification.
Application deadline is 20th August and we will be arranging interviews for the week commencing 27th August.
Mustard Tree encourages applications from individuals of Black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) backgrounds for all roles at the charity.
Mustard Tree are one of the most established charities in the North of England supporting those facing poverty and homelessness. We have over 25 years of experience helping people across greater Manchester where our compassionate and intelligent approach, creates a safe space, a community of hope and aspiration, opportunity and belonging where together we lift each other’s confidence and skills. Our work impacts the lives of thousands of people every year, who are the most vulnerable and hard to engage with groups in our society. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with our team!
As our organisation grows, we are now looking for three new trustees to help us ensure we fulfil our duties to beneficiaries, deliver our vision and mission, and sustainably grow for the future. You will have a strong empathy with our mission and values, and will want to inspire people to change lives for those who are impacted by homelessness and marginalisation. You will have a proven track record of sound judgement and decision making in your field, together with (ideally) experience of operating on (or within) a charitable board, public sector or commercial organisation.
To be effective, Mustard Tree needs to understand a wide range of practices, sectors and perspectives, and is seeking to enhance the diversity, skill-sets and experiences of the Board. With that in mind, the trustee recruitment will be a rolling programme over the next 12 months in order to give the charity time to attract specific expertise.
