Original Hudson’s Silent Auction

Posted by , on April 9th, 2013

Graham Hudson is fast becoming known as one of the regions most gifted and inspiring visual artists. Four years ago, Graham’s life was overshadowed by crime, personal loss and homelessness, before finding ‘salvation’ in Mustard Tree – for whom he now works as Creative Programmes Manager.

The exhibition of Graham’s art work and the silent auction has opened at the Virgin Money Lounge Manchester on King’s Street.

Running from 8 – 18 April with viewings open to the general public 3-4pm daily, this exhibition is a chance to both view and purchase via silent auction a number of Graham’s stunning art works.

With the proceeds of the auction going to Mustard Tree, this is an opportunity to collect art from one of the region’s most inspiring artists, as well as give to a very good cause.

Bupa Great Manchester Run

Posted by , on April 2nd, 2013

Andy running as Pamela Anderson last year. Looking good Andy!

Andy Ayres from Barclays Bank will be taking part in the Bupa Great Manchester Run on behalf of Mustard Tree on Sunday 26 May. Andy took part in the event last year and completed the race in an amazing time of 68 minutes! Andy is 36, married, has two beautiful children and suffers with epilepsy. Andy tells us that he is fundraising for Mustard Tree because ’it breaks my heart seeing people having to live on the streets and as such whenever I see homeless people I always buy them food and hot drinks. I always donate clothes that I no longer wear to the homeless and I want to do what I can to prevent homelessness. I enjoy helping others and urge you to do the same by sponsoring me’.

FC United Manchester Food Collection

Posted by , on February 26th, 2013

With demand for emergency food provision more than doubling in 12 months, Mustard Tree Food Bank Store was looking seriously depleted and at risk of running out of food altogether. But then fans of FC United Manchester came to the rescue!

FC United, through its fan based social media outlet, set last Saturday’s home game against Ilkeston as opportunity for its fans to bring food and fill a Mustard Tree van with this much needed emergency provision.

Adrian Nottingham, CEO of Mustard Tree, “Once again we are grateful for the support of FC united and its generous fans. In January of this year we supplied emergency food parcels to 211 clients and their families through our Food Banks in Ancoats and Eccles Precinct; which is more than double what was required in January 2012. This big collection on Saturday has given a vitally needed boost to our food store. We are finding that in these harsh days of recession that the solution to supporting those most in need is coming from lots of ordinary people who generously share what they have. Once again the FC United Manchester fans lead the way… thank you!”

After tirelessly sorting through the items, we can confirm that we received six weeks worth of food which has been added to our food store. Again, we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the fans of FC United Manchester!
