The Archbishop of York Visits MT

Posted by , on March 3rd, 2011

On Wednesday 2nd March we had the pleasure of hosting the Archbishop of York, John Sentamu. He came to hear about what we do and meet some of those we work with, including those with experience of homelessness, long-term unemployment, mental illness and addiction. We gave the Archbishop the full MT guided tour (we’re always happy to give these for anyone who’d like to know more) and introduced to various friends as we went along. He also met our founder Dave Smith and learnt more about his charity, The Boaz Trust, who work with destitute asylum seekers. Graham and Phil enjoyed some banter in the art area and Graham was able to present the Archbishop with one of his original painting to remember us by. Below are some ‘snaps’ of the visit, for a couple of slightly more professional images and a great one of Phil’s art follow this link http://www.markwaugh.net/blog/?p=755

The Archibishop later tweeted: ‘Thank you for showing me around today. You are doing wonderful work! Great to meet you all, & thank Graham for the picture!’

Ian’s Story

Posted by , on March 2nd, 2011

Here is the next story from some of those we have had the pleasure of working with in the last couple of years. Ian talks about his journey from a good job at the airport, through homelessness in Manchester and out the other side. Since filming this Ian has been successful in his hunt for a steady job and is now the newest member of the Mustard Tree team, working in the warehouse. We hope you enjoy the short film.
